Incheon Airport Transit Hotel: Comfortable Stay at WalkerHill

This holiday season, I had the opportunity to visit my home country, the Philippines, for Christmas and New Year's. I took a Korean Airlines flight, which included a long layover in Incheon Airport of about 15 hours. With such a long wait ahead, my sister kindly booked me a room at the Incheon Airport Transit Hotel by WalkerHill in Terminal 2. I must say, it was a pleasant surprise!

It was my first time staying at an airport hotel, and I was initially unsure what to expect. However, despite its compact size, the room was incredibly comfortable. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and cozy. The bed was ultra-comfortable, perfect for recharging after a long flight. The lighting was soft and pleasant, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Even the bathroom was spotless and well-equipped, which made for a refreshing experience.

When I arrived at the hotel, I was feeling very sleepy, so I took a quick nap. I woke up at 2:30 a.m. and, feeling quite refreshed, decided to explore the airport. It was an interesting experience being at the airport past midnight — it was relatively empty, giving me a sense of having the place to myself. I couldn’t resist taking some selfies and even filmed a quick TikTok dance. I’ve always wondered how people manage to film TikTok videos in airports, and here I was, living that dream!

The airport transforms into a fascinating place to explore when everyone else is fast asleep, offering a unique sense of adventure and discovery.

One of the highlights was the 24-hour cafeteria, where I enjoyed a delicious Giant Pork Cutlet. It was such a unique dish, and I highly recommend it. If you're traveling with someone, it's big enough to share, making it a perfect late-night snack or meal.

Giant Pork Cutlet at Incheon Airport Food Cafeteria

Just a few steps from the WalkerHill Hotel, there was a 24-hour cafeteria serving a delicious giant pork cutlet meal that was simply irresistible.

The whole experience was surreal, like I had the entire airport to myself. It felt like a mini-adventure in the midst of my long journey. This stay made me think about how beneficial a long layover can be, especially when you're traveling long distances.

Typically, flights from Chicago to the Philippines take about 20 hours total, and while shorter layovers of around 3 hours are convenient, they often leave you exhausted when you finally reach your destination. The Walker Hill Transit Hotel gave me a chance to rest, refresh, and recharge, making me feel ready to tackle the next leg of my trip.

While there are several transit hotels at Incheon Airport, I can confidently say that WalkerHill was definitely worth the stay. For quick booking, visit WalkerHill Terminal 2 Transit Hotel here.

If I have another long layover in Incheon South Korea in the future, I would not hesitate to stay there again. You can try booking a stay via Trip.com.
